Description
This pair of oak rails dates to the late 1800's or early 1900's and was crafted in Belgium. Their low, elongated form and Gothic tracery are characteristic of church communion rails. Each section features pointed arches and circular quatrefoil motifs, with small carved accents decorating the inward-facing tips. A warm brown finish highlights the oak grain.
Each rail measures 79 inches wide, with five framed sections of openwork beneath a molded top rail. The matching pair could serve as communion rails in a church or chapel, or be incorporated into a custom room divider. Their open design defines a space while allowing light and views through the tracery. Sold as a pair; both rails are included.
Like all our antiques, it was thoughtfully sourced in Europe, imported to our Oregon warehouse, and carefully finished with antique-grade paste wax to preserve its beauty for years to come.
Condition
These rails are in good antique condition, with surface wear, small marks, minor joint movement, and irregularities consistent with age and architectural use. Please review the photographs closely for condition details.
Dimensions
Each rail: 30" high x 79" wide x 3.5" deep at the top.
