About Our European Antiques

Where do your antiques come from?

Our antiques are sourced primarily in France and Belgium through long-standing relationships with trusted European dealers. Several times each year, we travel to Europe to personally select antique furniture, stained glass, and architectural pieces. Items are then shipped to our Oregon warehouse for cleaning, photography, and preparation.

How old are your antiques?

Most pieces date from the 1800s to early 1900s, with occasional earlier examples. We provide approximate periods in each listing, as antique furniture was often produced across extended timeframes.

What styles do you specialize in?

Antiques NW focuses on carved wood furniture and decorative arts in Gothic, Renaissance, Hunt/Black Forest, Louis-style, and traditional European architectural styles. We also offer antique stained glass windows, architectural elements, devotional pieces, and one-of-a-kind decorative objects.

Are your antiques restored?

We carefully clean, stabilize, and finish pieces with antique-grade paste wax. We avoid heavy refinishing to preserve original patina, carving detail, and historical character.

How do you evaluate authenticity?

We purchase through established European dealers and evaluate each item based on materials, joinery methods, wear patterns, and stylistic characteristics consistent with the period.

Condition & Expectations

What condition should I expect from antique furniture?

 Antiques show natural age-related wear such as minor repairs, surface marks, or wood movement. We photograph and disclose notable condition details to ensure transparency.

Can I request additional photos or videos?

Yes. We are happy to provide additional photos, videos, or room mockups to help you visualize scale and placement.

Do you perform repairs before shipping?

We stabilize loose joints and prepare pieces for safe transport. Major refinishing is typically left to the buyer to match their design preferences.

Are antique stained glass windows weather-ready?

Our stained glass is sold as decorative antique glass. For exterior installation, we recommend protective glazing or custom framing by a local professional.

Shipping & Delivery Nationwide

How do you ship large antiques?

Smaller items ship via UPS. Large antique furniture and architectural pieces travel with professional blanket-wrap carriers or specialty freight companies experienced in transporting antiques.

How long does shipping take?

Small items are packed within 3–7 business days, with transit typically under one week within the U.S. Large furniture shipped via blanket-wrap carriers generally arrives within 3–8 weeks depending on route scheduling. Carriers contact you directly to schedule delivery.

Is shipping included in the price?

For many large antiques, estimated nationwide shipping is included in the listed price to simplify checkout. If you are near Oregon or arranging pickup, contact us for a personalized quote.

Do you offer white-glove delivery?

White-glove upgrades are available for many pieces. Please contact us to discuss your needs.

Can I pick up from your Oregon warehouse?

Yes. Local pickup by appointment is available from our Antiques NW warehouse in the Banks/Hillsboro area of Oregon.

What if shipping damage occurs?

Notify both the carrier and Antiques NW immediately and retain all packaging. We work directly with carriers to resolve claims promptly.

Pricing & Direct Purchase

Do you offer a direct purchase discount?

Yes. Customers who contact us directly through our website or email receive 10% off the listed marketplace price. This reflects savings on marketplace fees.

Can I purchase by phone or email?

 Absolutely. We provide secure invoicing and guide you through shipping and delivery details.

Do you negotiate on price?

We price competitively for online buyers, often slightly below traditional retail antique shops. Reasonable offers are welcome.

Do you offer payment plans?

Short-term payment arrangements may be available for larger pieces. Contact us to discuss options.

Do you offer discounts for multiple purchases?

We’re glad to discuss combined purchases and may offer savings on shipping or overall pricing when multiple items are purchased together.

Inventory & Visits

Why isn’t all inventory on the website?

While our new website continues to develop, many items are currently listed on our eBay and Etsy storefronts. We are steadily adding inventory to Shopify as it becomes available.

When do new antiques arrive?

We receive European containers approximately 3–4 times per year, typically in winter, spring, and summer. Join our mailing list to be notified when new arrivals are ready.

Can I visit your showroom?

Yes. Visits are welcome by appointment at our Oregon location. We are actively expanding toward a larger warehouse and display space in the coming years.

What Does “Arrives [Month Year]” Mean?

When an item is marked “Arrives March 2026”, it means the piece is currently available for purchase but is still located in Europe.

The month and year shown indicate the estimated timeframe of our next container shipment to our Oregon warehouse. We typically receive 40' containers three to four times per year.

Some items are already scheduled to ship in the upcoming container. Others may remain in Europe until a customer completes a purchase, at which time we coordinate their transport in the next available shipment.

Can you help me find a specific antique?

Yes. If you are searching for a particular size, style, or architectural element, we can source pieces during our next European buying trip.

Can stained glass be resized or installed?

In many cases, antique stained glass panels can be adapted by local glass studios for modern framing or installation.
