Our Story

A European Sourcing Tradition
Since 1999

Welcome, and thank you for taking the time to get to know us. My name is Lorraine, and I'm honored to lead Antiques NW, a business founded in 1999 by my father, Art Kamp, born from a deep appreciation for European craftsmanship and the belief that well-made pieces deserve another chapter. Today, I carry that vision forward—personally sourcing antiques in France and Belgium, overseeing each shipment, and working directly with our clients across the country. For our family, this business has always been about more than antiques; it's about the relationships formed along the way, the stories behind each piece, and the care taken to ensure it finds the right home.

From Retirement Venture to Lifelong Pursuit

Art approached the antiques trade with curiosity and discipline, becoming an early adopter of online selling through eBay auctions as early as 1999. Over time, Yesteryear Antiques evolved through wholesale and direct-to-collector sales, guided by long-standing European sourcing relationships. During this period, Jesse Kinlaw joined the business, supporting Art in sales and hands-on work.

The Evolution of Yesteryear Antiques

By 2015, believing it was time to fully step away, Art sold Yesteryear Antiques to Jesse. It soon became clear, however, that leaving the trade behind was not so simple. The pursuit of exceptional pieces and the rhythm of sourcing remained deeply compelling, and Art continued working independently within the antiques world.

Why Antiques NW Was Created

In 2023, Art invited his daughter Lorraine and her husband Dean to join him. Rather than continue under the existing business, Lorraine chose to establish Antiques NW as an independent company—allowing Jesse to fully carry forward Yesteryear Antiques, while creating space for a new vision, pace, and approach.

A Family-Run Business, Focused on Quality

In 2025, Art's grandson David returned to the trade after having worked alongside his grandfather during his high-school years more than a decade earlier, continuing a family connection to antiques that now spans generations.

That same year, Anna joined Antiques NW, contributing to online listings, website development, and the detailed preparation of antiques for photography, shipping, and customer use. Her work supports the behind-the-scenes care that allows each piece to arrive thoughtfully presented and ready for its next chapter.

Today, Antiques NW is a family-run business focused on quality, transparency, and an unhurried experience. Each piece is selected for its craftsmanship, character, and ability to support your vision. We believe acquiring an antique should feel considered and enjoyable, and we welcome conversation along the way. If questions arise, you're always invited to reach out directly.
