Description:
This lovely statue of a seated Mother Mary with the Child Jesus is from France. It exhibits vivid, original colors. At 50" tall, it's a life size representation of the seated figures. Easily visible on the rear surface and the underside are the tool marks from hand tools used for shaping in the 1700's. We date the piece to the late 1700's or possibly early 1800's and we believe it originated in France. It's in unusually excellent antique condition with no notable damage and its original paint with only very minor touch-ups. We note no significant dry rot or woodworm holes.

Overall, this piece is in very good antique condition with no woodworm, no dry rot, and no structural issues. It shows minor surface wear consistent with age and historical use, which contributes to its authentic character.
