The 120+ year old Sacred Heart Parish church in Hoboken (Antwerp), Belgium closed several years ago and is currently slated for demolition. In April 2024 we purchased the furnishings with a goal of salvaging them and placing them in new homes in the USA.
This antique tabernacle is from the Hoboken church. See the 2nd photo of the tabernacle in its original location. The front surround is made from solid gilt bronze over an inner wood case. As you can see, there were both front and rear access doors and the original curtains and fabric liner are still in place. The entire tabernacle is in very good antique condition. The bronzework has a beautiful antique patina.The fabric liner and the curtains are somewhat yellowed with age but still very serviceable. The locks appear to be functional but we do not have keys.

Condition:
Overall, this piece is in very good antique condition with no woodworm, no dry rot, and no structural issues. It shows minor surface wear consistent with age and historical use, which contributes to its authentic character.
