Antique Religious Pulpit in Oak Wood Inscribed God Faith Charity Hope

$3,900.00

Description:
This beautifully shaped and carved solid oak pulpit/lectern is from France or possibly Belgium. We date it to the mid to late 1800's. It was undoubtedly the main part of a pulpit-note the unfinished rear edges where it was attached to another structure. The medallion inscriptions are in Latin and translate God, faith, charity and hope.

Condition:
It is very solidly built and in very good antique condition with no notable damage. Note several cracks from aging of the wood (see photos). The interior surface is covered with a fabric liner that was glued in place. There is no woodworm or dry rot.

Dimensions: 35" height x 42" across x 27" deep (front to back)
