This beautifully hand carved statue of the Virgin Mary with baby Jesus is from France or Belgium and it dates to the mid-1700's to early 1800's. It's made from solid walnut wood where multiple pieces were carefully hand fitted and carved to create the statue. It's finished to a very pleasing honey colored medium walnut color.
Condition:
Overall this statue is in very good antique condition with very minor scratches, chips and discolorations as would be expected. Overall, there is no notable damage and no woodworm or dry rot.
