Description
This antique French commode dates to the mid-1800's and is designed in the Louis Philippe style. It has a gray marble top with white veining and rounded front corners. Rich burl veneer covers the drawer fronts, complemented by paneled sides, simple molding, and low block feet.
The commode has four full-width drawers: a narrow upper drawer and three deeper drawers below. Keys are included, and the locks work properly. At 52 inches wide, it offers generous storage and can serve as a bedroom dresser, entry-hall commode, or dining-room chest.
Condition:
This piece is in very good antique condition, with age-related scratches, marks, and finish wear visible across the veneer. The marble top shows surface wear consistent with age and use. It has been inspected and shows no signs of active woodworm or dry rot. There are keys to the drawers and the locks work properly. Drawers open and close smoothly and the structure is sturdy and sound.
