Description:
This Gothic revival style rail is from France and dates to the very late 1800's or early 1900's. This was most likely an end section from a longer communion or altar rail. It is made from very heavy solid oak that is unfinished.
Condition:
The rail is in very good antique condition: straight and solid and with no woodworm or dry rot. Note the unfinished ends where they were fastened to walls or other sections.
Dimensions:
30" height x 37" wide x 9" thick on top, 7" thick on bottom.
