This antique blanket chest dates to the late 1800's or early 1900's and was crafted in Europe. Constructed of oak, the chest features four deeply carved Gothic tracery panels across the front, accented by carved figural corner posts. Decorative iron strap hinges complement the paneled lift-top lid and add to its authentic Old World character.
The spacious interior provides practical storage for blankets, linens, or other household items. This substantial chest would also make a distinctive coffee table, entryway piece, or decorative accent in a Gothic-inspired interior.
Dimensions: 55" long , 26" deep (front to back) and 19" high.
Condition:
Overall, this piece is in very good antique condition with no woodworm, no dry rot, and no structural issues. It shows minor surface wear consistent with age and historical use, which contributes to its authentic character. Note minor damage to the veneering on the top (see photos)
