This religious statue dates to the mid to late 1700's and was crafted in France or possibly Belgium. Constructed from oak wood, it depicts the Virgin Mary standing with open outstretched hands in a gesture of welcome and blessing. The figure features flowing drapery, a hooded mantle, serene facial expression, and a crescent moon base with the serpent beneath her feet, reflecting traditional Catholic iconography associated with the Immaculate Conception. The design reflects Gothic and devotional ecclesiastical craftsmanship of the period, showcasing the sculptural artistry and spiritual symbolism common to European church furnishings and religious décor.
Its rich aged patina, large scale, and expressive sculptural presence make it ideal for use as a devotional focal point, church display, chapel décor, or statement religious interior accent.
Like all our antiques, it was thoughtfully sourced in Europe, imported to our Oregon warehouse, and carefully finished with antique-grade paste wax to preserve its beauty for years to come.

Condition:
Overall, this piece is in very good antique condition with no woodworm, no dry rot, and no structural issues. Please note a variety of seam/seperations which are typical of a wood statue of this size and age (see photos). It shows minor surface wear consistent with age and historical use, which contributes to its authentic character.
