Description:
This antique armchair dates to the late 1800's or early 1900's and was crafted in France. The oak frame has a tall Gothic-style back with an openwork carved crest, decorative finials, and pale leather upholstery secured with brass-tone nailheads.
Openwork foliate panels decorate both sides, while turned stretchers and carved posts add architectural detail throughout the frame. The generously proportioned seat and high back give the chair a commanding presence. The naturally aged leather and warm oak finish contribute to its distinctive antique character.
Like all our antiques, it was thoughtfully sourced in Europe, to be imported to our Oregon warehouse, and carefully finished with antique-grade paste wax to preserve its beauty for years to come.
Condition:
The oak frame is in very good antique condition, with wear consistent with age and use. The leather upholstery shows substantial age-related wear, including staining, discoloration, scuffs, surface cracking, and finish loss, as shown in the photographs. The chair has been inspected and shows no signs of active woodworm or dry rot.

Shipping:
Large items are carefully blanket-wrapped and delivered by trusted small-business transport companies experienced in handling antiques and fine furniture. This personalized service does not use parcel-style tracking. We arrange transport based on route availability and notify the customer of the scheduled pickup date; the transporter then contacts the customer at least 24 hours before delivery. Transit typically takes 4-8 weeks. Delivery is to one accessible entry point; inside placement, unpacking, and setup are not included unless arranged in advance. We recommend inspecting the item upon arrival. Shipping is included in the list price for delivery within the contiguous United States.
