antique-wood-church-altar-with-tabernacle-sacred-heart-relief-lamb-of-god
Antique Wood Church Altar with Tabernacle, Sacred Heart Relief, Lamb of God

Description:
This French antique wooden church altar dates to the late 1800's or early 1900's. Its broad top has a white marble altar stone and a raised tabernacle. Columns and a layered cornice frame a large gold-toned relief of Christ revealing his Sacred Heart to a kneeling nun.

The tabernacle door bears a Lamb of God emblem. Inside the wooden door is a white painted iron inner door and a fabric-lined compartment with gold cross details. The inner door locks and there is a key with it. The altar and tabernacle form a substantial piece of church furnishing with both devotional imagery and functional storage.

Like all our antiques, it was thoughtfully sourced in Europe, imported to our Oregon warehouse, and carefully finished with antique-grade paste wax to preserve its beauty for years to come.

The wheeled moving platforms shown in the photographs are not included.

Condition:
This altar is in good antique condition, with wear consistent with age and use. The tabernacle has a very good working lock and includes its key. The front columns and several trim pieces appear to be more recent replacements, and the top surface has irregularities. Please examine the detail photos carefully. There are missing fingers on Christ's hand. Overall, the altar is solid with no structural issues.

Dimensions:
66" high x 80" wide x 37" deep
39" high to main altar surface

Shipping:
Large items are carefully blanket-wrapped and delivered by trusted small-business transport companies experienced in handling antiques and fine furniture.
